Follow the steps below to create a class:
- Step 1: Log in to the portal.
- Step 2: Navigate to the Administrative section of the main menu and click Class
- Step 3: Click Manage Class on the Class sub-menu.
- Step 4: Click the Add Class button at the top right corner.
- Step 5: Enter the class name. (Note: if the class has an arm click Yes to add an arm, and click the Add More button to add more arms).
- Step 6: Click Save
Classes should be created with an arm to manage future expansion.
How to Create a Class Arm
Follow the steps below to create a class arm:
- Step 1: Log in to the portal
- Step 2: Navigate to the Administrative section of the main menu
- Step 3: Click Class (a menu under Administrative)
- Step 4: Click Manage Class (a sub-menu of Class). This would take you to a list of classes already existing
- Step 5: Click the View Arms button on the class of interest
- Step 6: Click the Add Arm button in the top right corner
- Step 7: Enter the class arm name e.g Gold. (Click the Add More button to add more arms)
- Step: Click Save
How to Assign a Student to a Class
Follow the steps below to assign a student or students to a class:
- Step 1: Log in to the portal.
- Step 2: Navigate to the Administrative section of the main menu and click Class.
- Step 3: Click Manage Students/pupils on the Class sub-menu.
- Step 4: Click the View Students/pupils button on any class of interest (The class you want to assign the student/pupil to).
- Step 5: Click the Assign Student button at the top right corner.
- Step 6: Search for student/pupil by name and select by clicking the name of the student/pupil (Note: you can select more than one student)
- Step 7: Click Save
How to assign subjects to a class
Follow the steps below to assign subjects to a class:
- Step 1: Log in to the portal.
- Step 2: Navigate to the Administrative section of the main menu and click Class
- Step 3: Click Class Subjects on the Class sub-menu
- Step 4: Click the Assign Subjects button on any class of interest
- Step 5: Click the Assign Subjects button at the top right corner
- Step 6: Select the subjects that apply to the class (multiple subjects can be selected)
- Step 7: Click Save
Note
- If the selected subjects apply to other classes (i.e exactly the same) click Yes and select the class
- To delete a subject, click the Delete button on the subject of interest
How to Promote Students to Another Class
Follow the steps below to promote students:
- Step 1: Log in to the portal
- Step 2: Navigate to the Administrative section of the main menu and click Class
- Step 3: Click Promotion (a sub-menu of Class)
- Step 4: Click the Manage Promotion button on the class students are to be promoted from
- Step 5: Select the Academic Session and Term
- Step 6: Click Proceed
- Step 7: Click the Promote Pupil/Student button at the top right corner
- Step 8: Select the students (multiple students can be selected), then select the class the students should be promoted to
- Step 9: Click Save
Note
- Promotion is mostly done at the end of an academic session and term. Select the just-concluded academic session and term/quarter
- Pupils/Students repeating a class should not be promoted
- A quick promotion tip is to always begin with the top class. This will save you time and clear up any confusion. e.g From grades 7 to 9 Start from grade 9, then 8, and lastly 7
Tip
When dealing with students transitioning from primary school to college, do the following:
- Promote the pupils to graduated. (This would automatically make the graduated students inactive)
- Navigate to the pupils menu under the administrative section and access the list of inactive students. See How to Move Inactive Students to Active and follow Steps 1 - 7

How to set subject learning target
Follow the steps below to set a learning target:
- Step 1: Log in to the portal.
- Step 2: Navigate to the Administrative section of the main menu and click Class
- Step 3: Click Class Subjects on the Class submenu
- Step 4: Click the View Subjects button on the class of your choice
- Step 5: Click the Manage Contents button on any subject of your choice
- Step 6: Select a Term
- Step 7: Click Proceed
- Step 8: Click the Content button at the top right corner, and select Add Content. To select content from the archive click Content Archive and select the content of your choice
- Step 9: Fill in all required fields. Click Yes if the content applies to other classes or terms. Click Add More button to add more content
- Step 10: Click Save
