Timetable
How to Set up a Timetable
The following are the steps to set up a timetable:
- Step 1: Log in to the school portal and then navigate to the Administrative section on the main menu
- Step 2: Click Timetable
- Step 3: Click Manage (A submenu of Timetable)
- Step 4: Click the Setup Timetable button at the top right corner
- Step 5: Fill in all the *required fields
- Step 6: Click Save
Tip
- Batch - Select an academic batch
- Total period - Enter the total number of periods per week, e.g. 50
- No. of days - Enter the total number of days, e.g. 5 (which implies Monday to Friday)
- Start time - use the clock displayed to select the time for the first period.
Note
For days of the week (such as Monday to Thursday) with similar time intervals for periods (e.g. 40 mins), the time duration (Duration in Minutes) could be set up first. Then, Friday, with a different time interval could then be set up afterwards.
How to Set Timetable Periods
The following are the steps to set timetable periods:
- Step 1: Log in to the school portal and then navigate to the Administrative section on the main menu
- Step 2: Click Timetable
- Step 3: Click Manage (a submenu of Timetable)
- Step 4: Click the MANAGE button on the new timetable to see a drop-down menu
- Step 5: Click Time Setting on the drop-down menu
- Step 6: Click the ADD SETTING button in the top right corner
- Step 7: Fill in all the *required fields.
- Step 8: Click Save
Tip
- To change or adjust the time duration (Duration in Minutes) after saving, click the EDIT button to make the change, and then Click Save.
- To delete or remove any day of the week from the list of days, select the small square box attached to it and then Click the red delete icon in the top right corner of the page.
How to Set a Class Timetable and Determine Subject Placements
The following are steps to set a class timetable and determine subjects placements:
- Step 1: Log in to the school portal and then navigate to the Administrative section of the main menu
- Step 2: Click Timetable
- Step 3: Click Manage (A submenu of Timetable)
- Step 4: Click the MANAGE button on the timetable to see a drop-down menu
- Step 5: Click Timetable Setup
- Step 6: Select a class and click Proceed.
- Step 7: Click the SUBJECT SETTING button at the top right corner.
- Step 8: Enter the total period per week for each subject and the maximum number of periods a subject should have per day. Use the X button to remove subjects that don't apply.
- Step 9: Click Save
Note
A. For example, 50 periods per week for a total of 5 days implies 10 periods per day.
B. Take note of the number of periods. If the total number of periods per week is less than or equal to the total number of periods set at the initial timetable settings, the system will give or indicate a green badge with the message 'Good Distribution' as displayed in the image below.
C. If, however, it is more than that, it would indicate this with a red badge. If the badge is red, it indicates a possible problem when auto-generating the timetable. It is important to ensure a moderate distribution.
Tip
A. Click the EDIT button to adjust either the number of period per week or the maximum number of periods per day
B. To remove or delete any subject, select the square box attached to the subject and then click the red delete icon in the top right corner of the page.
How to Set Periods for Break and Extracurricular Activities on a Timetable
The following are the steps to periods for a break and any extracurricular activities on a timetable:
- Step 1: Log in to the school portal and then navigate to the Administrative section on the main menu
- Step 2: Click Timetable
- Step 3: Click Manage (a submenu of Timetable)
- Step 3: Click the MANAGE button on the new timetable to see a drop-down menu
- Step 4: Click Timetable Template
- Step 5: Click the ADD TEMPLATE button at the top right corner.
- Step 6: Fill in all the *required fields. Click the ADD MORE button to add details for any additional columns on the timetable
- Step 7: Click Save
How to Generate a Timetable
The following are steps to generate a timetable and adjust subject placements.
- Step 1: Log in to the school portal and then navigate to the Administrative section of the main menu
- Step 2: Click Timetable
- Step 3: Click Manage (A submenu of Timetable)
- Step 4: Click the Manage button on the new timetable to see a drop-down menu
- Step 5: Click Generated Timetable
- Step 6: Click the GENERATE TIMETABLE button in the top right corner of the page
- Step 7: Select a class
- Step 8: Click the GENERATE button
- Step 9: Click View Timetable
Note
- When generating a timetable multiple classes can be selected.
- If you are not satisfied with the timetable generated, you can delete the timetable and then generate another, following Step 6 or just proceed to adjust the timetable generated.
How to Adjust Subjects Placements on a Timetable
The following are steps to adjust subjects placements on a timetable:
- Step 1: Log in to the school portal and then navigate to the Administrative section of the main menu
- Step 2: Click Timetable
- Step 3: Click Manage (A submenu of Timetable)
- Step 4: Click the Manage button on the new timetable to see a drop-down menu
- Step 5: Click Generated Timetable
- Step 6: Click the GENERATE TIMETABLE button in the top right corner of the page
- Step 7: Select a class
- Step 8: Click the GENERATE button
- Step 9: Click View Timetable
- Step 10: Click the ADJUST TIMETABLE button at the top right corner.
- Step 11: Click the period where you want a subject and a drop-down list of subjects will appear. Select the subject of choice. Repeat this step to replace any subject with another.
- Step 12: When subjects replacement or rearrangement has been done to satisfaction, click Save
